Celtic Spirit is the name of our spring concert. Our special guests for this concert is the group Celtic Shift.
The Canadian Celtic Choir, a registered non-profit organization, was founded in 1996 to promote Celtic choral music and culture. Our repertoire of traditional to contemporary music comes primarily from Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales and the Atlantic Provinces. We have performed internationally in Hawaii, Scotland and England. Canadian highlights included singing the National Anthem for the Citizenship Ceremonies at Pier 21 on Canada Day in 2017, and five performances during our recent 2025 tour of Newfoundland and Labrador. Our most recent CD is Winter – Songs of the Season (2025) is available at our performances for $10. Please visit our YouTube channel, our Facebook page and website www.celticchoir.ca
Celtic Shift plays Irish and Scottish traditional tunes with modern twists into jazz, rock and pop styles. The band is Stephen Holowitz (keyboards), Amy Barten (fiddle), and Dave Nuttall (whistles). Trumpeter in classical, salsa and jazz styles, Dave found another voice in pennywhistle, which has opened many doors for him. Since moving to Nova Scotia, he has been welcomed to an Acadian concert band and has performed solo at a local resort. Amy is a London-based Suzuki Violin & Early Childhood Education Teacher and is the owner of Amy’s Violin School. Stephen is the accompanist for the Canadian Celtic Choir and wears many musical hats in the London area.Celtic Shift is pleased to be a part of the CCC's Celtic Spirit concert.
