K-VIII, also known as K-8 and performing under the name Caitlin Jermey, is a London, Ontario-based DJ and producer working within the contemporary electronic music scene. Her performances draw from a wide range of club-focused genres including tech house, melodic techno, deep house, breaks, and bass music, often combining rhythmic underground dance structures with more accessible melodic elements. Rather than focusing on a single electronic subgenre, K-VIII’s sets are built around pacing, energy shifts, and crowd interaction, blending heavier bass-driven tracks with progressive melodic transitions. She has performed at venues and festivals across Canada as well as internationally in locations including Mexico and Europe, with appearances connected to nightlife and underground electronic music communities in cities such as Tulum and Amsterdam. In addition to performing, Jermey is the founder of Play Productions, an event platform aimed at supporting local electronic artists and creating opportunities for underrepresented voices within club culture and live dance music events. She has shared lineups with established electronic acts including Diplo and Sidepiece while also remaining active in regional Ontario venues such as London Music Hall, Rum Runners, and Toronto’s Wiggle Room. Her work reflects the current intersection between independent electronic music promotion, DJ culture, and genre-fluid dance music performance.
